The Columbus Blue Jackets have recalled defenseman Gabriel Carlsson from the Cleveland Monsters, Columbus’ American Hockey League affiliate, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.
Carlsson, 20, has recorded 0-1-1 and two penalty minutes in 10 games with the Blue Jackets and has collected four penalty minutes in six contests with the Monsters this season. He has tallied 0-2-2 and two penalty minutes in 12 career regular season games since making his NHL debut at the end of the 2016-17 season. The Orebro, Sweden native has registered 0-1-1, six penalty minutes and an “even” plus/minus rating in nine career AHL games with Cleveland. He was Columbus’ second first round pick, 29th overall, in the 2015 NHL Draft.
